Americans don’t sleep enough. The long-term effects are dire, especially for Black people

Racial and ethnic minorities not only sleep less than white adults; they have less quality sleep, are more likely to toss and turn, and are more prone to disorders like sleep apnea, said Azizi Seixas, associate director of the Center for Translational Sleep and Circadian Sciences at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
